Applied AI
Private AI, on hardware we own and run
AI models running on our own hardware, in our data centres, for workflows where the data has to stay on infrastructure we run.
Who it is for
Organisations whose documents, procedures or client records cannot go to a public AI service: industrial and port operators, regulated practices, and anyone whose contracts say where data may be processed.
What you get
AI that drafts, summarises and answers from your own documents, running on hardware we own and support, with the data flow written down: what is stored, where, and for how long.
The problem
The documents that would make AI useful are the ones you cannot paste into a public tool.
Private AI means AI models running on our own hardware, in our data centres. Prompts and documents are processed on infrastructure we run, connected to your sites over our own business-only network.
We choose the model for each workflow by what the task needs, the licence terms, and the performance and throughput it has to deliver. What is kept, for how long, and how available the service must be are agreed for each workflow and written into the specification before anything is set up.

Questions people ask
Can AI run on our own servers instead of the cloud?
Yes. Open AI models can run on private hardware, so prompts and documents stay on infrastructure you or your provider control. Odyssey runs AI models on its own hardware for this.
What is private AI?
AI models running on our own hardware, in our data centres, so the prompts and documents they work on stay on infrastructure we run.
Where is our data stored, and for how long?
On our own hardware, in our data centres. What is stored, and for how long, is agreed for each workflow and written into the specification before anything is set up.
How is this different from Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Microsoft 365 Copilot runs inside your Microsoft 365 tenant, under Microsoft's data terms. Private AI runs on hardware we own and run, so the models run, and the data they work on is processed, on our own infrastructure.
What happens if the hardware fails?
Private AI is supported through our service desk, like our other managed services. Failover and uptime are configured to your requirements, so a workflow that must always be available is designed that way from the start.
